The Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program (RRAP) Business Case

Patrick Silvey was a Principal Advisor to the partners of the RRAP over a three-year period. VenturePro contributed to the development of an initial business case that obtained $6m in funding from the Australian Government to be used in a Concept Feasibility Study, involving various pilot experiments to assess possible restoration and adaptation interventions on the Great Barrier Reef in the face of imminent threats from climate change.

Patrick was a co-author of the final RRAP investment case, aimed at informing research partners, investors, policy makers and senior government officials and which included a ten-year R&D program scope with an economic analysis of intervention options.

Key outcomes achieved: Through the development of this investment case, the Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program was established and allocated $150m in funding from partners and the Reef Trust Partnership.
